
Set up Simon Coath Consultancy ("SCC" as a Training and Development Consultancy).
SCC are Law Society Accredited providers for CPD, PSC, and Law Society Management Courses. They work with a number of consultants who provide a range of training and consultancy services primarily in the professional service sector. SCC collaborate and have extensive experience of working closely with Law Firms and other providers to deliver in-house training. They have an innovative approach and, for example, devised the method whereby their PSC Core products are licensed to several Central London Law firms on conditions that require SCC to provide tutor teams.
SCC have expanded year on year during the last ten years and are now moving into another stage in their development forging new links and partnerships with providers and academic institutions.
Extensive lecturing / training experience with emphasis upon legal skills, ethics, and management and personal development. Has delivered in-house training programmes and consultancy services for most of the leading London Law firms and presently delivers PSC services for many City Law firms.
Specialises in advocacy skills training and has developed an approach that sets his training courses apart from that of his competitors. Will shortly launch in collaboration with the University of West of England an innovative Higher Rights training course.
Has also undertaken extensive CPD Advocacy training on SCC public Programme.
Has undertaken "Train the Trainers" advocacy training with NITA of USA and the Australian Institute of advocacy training also runs CPD sessions for his own consultants. Has also written essays, notes and discussion documents on appropriate training methodology for advocacy and other legal and management subjects.
Undertook mediation training with CEDR and Settlement Consultants in Texas to qualify as a Mediator and to further interest in ADR.
Prior to starting his Consultancy Simon was a litigation Partner at Oswald Hickson, Collier & Co and took principle responsibility for the handling of many of the landmark Lloyd's cases during the 90's. Prior to joining Oswald Hickson, Collier & Co. he worked as a partner at Horrocks & Co. in the City.
