Simon Coath Consultancy intends to use its extensive experience in advocacy training by providing courses leading to the Law Society's Higher Rights Qualification.
In collaboration with the University of West of England SCC will shortly seek validation from the Law Society to run Higher Rights courses. It is intended that the courses will be accredited and available from the autumn of 2004. The Evidence, Procedure, and Ethics element will feature a state of the art on line training capability designed to provide both an interesting and time efficient forum for study. The advocacy course will be radically different to other courses presently available and has been designed to ensure that each student maximises their personal development from the course.
"We are excited at the prospect of working closely with UWE. Their commitment to the development of advanced legal practice courses is second to none and is backed up with first class academic and administrative resources. At a time when predictions are being made as to the high growth in the number of solicitor-advocates it is important that firms are offered innovative and pedagogically sound training alternatives to the courses that are currently available. My team and I are looking forward to working closely with UWE on what will be an extremely successful programme."
"Our newly developed relationship with the Simon Coath Consultancy is a valuable addition to our strategic partnership. Given the high regard in which Simon is held by many leading law firms nation-wide, this initiative has enormous potential. By combining the expansion of our respective course teams we expect to provide a first class and highly competitive alternative to existing offerings."
